The myth that you can ever “achieve” happiness

Here’s a simple question for you – what leads to happiness and overall satisfaction with life?

Although what constitutes happiness is obviously highly subjective, I suspect many people adopt some version of the idea that happiness is achieved when a person accomplishes all or most of the major goals they’ve set for themselves over the course of their lifetime. Indeed, don’t we all want to be the person who someday when they’re older looks back on life with contentment and satisfaction for the things they’ve accomplished?
